Music artist and songwriter, Tiwa Savage, is gearing up for the exclusive premiere of her first feature film “Water and Garri” on Prime Video on May 10. The movie follows the journey of Aisha (played by Savage), a fashion designer returning to her hometown in Africa after a decade in the United States, only to find a community disrupted by violence and unrest.
As Aisha navigates her past, reconnecting with loved ones and a lost romance, she must confront her inner demons and reconcile with her past choices. Shot in Cape Coast, Ghana, the film promises captivating visuals and a compelling narrative, featuring actors like Mike Afolarin, Andrew Bunting, and Jemima Osunde.
Directed by Meji Alabi, “Water and Garri” is a collaboration between Unbound Studios and JM Films, with screenplay by Comfort Emmanuel. This project marks Tiwa Savage’s foray into the world of feature films, where she also showcases her talents as a singer and executive producer.
