I am excited to be participating in the Runwright Reads Summer Reading Challenge taking place from June 21 to September 23, 2023. Although I’m already involved in several other reading challenges, my goal for this challenge is to read at least 5 books to complete five of the 14 prompts provided. I am particularly eager to delve into some books that have been on my TBR list for a while. So far, I have tackled two of the five prompts I plan to read for.
For the prompt on SET: Read a book set in the Caribbean, I thoroughly enjoyed The God of Good Looks by Breanne Mc Ivor and would highly recommend it for an entertaining and easy read. I gave it a rating of 4.5 stars. The second book I am currently reading fits the prompt TRUE: Read a true story. It is The Defender: How the Legendary Black Newspaper Changed America by Ethan Michaeli. I am buddy reading this enlightening book and have reached the halfway mark. The insights into The Defender and American history have been fascinating, and I hope to finish it by the end of the month.
I encourage others to join this manageable and stress-free reading challenge. I will update in September on my progress in reading at least 5 books corresponding to 5 prompts from the challenge. If you are interested in participating, feel free to share what you have read or plan to read. Happy Summer Reading Challenge!😎📖📚
