O.J. Simpson, the infamous acquitted murder defendant, has reportedly received a diagnosis of cancer, according to Miami’s Local 10 News. Several sources have indicated that the 76-year-old former athlete is battling prostate cancer.
Furthermore, reports suggest that Simpson, who previously lived in South Florida, is undergoing chemotherapy in Las Vegas. There have been rumors circulating about him being in hospice care, but Simpson took to Twitter to refute those claims. In a video, he expressed that he will be hosting friends for the Super Bowl and denied being in hospice. He laughed off the rumors and reassured everyone that he is well.
Simpson grew up in San Francisco’s public housing and attended the University of Southern California. In 1968, he won the Heisman Trophy as college football’s best player. He later became an NFL Hall of Famer and appeared in several films, making a name for himself in Hollywood.
In 1995, he was acquitted of the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her associate Ronald Goldman. Simpson’s legal team included the late Johnnie Cochran Jr. and F. Lee Bailey. He later served nine years in a Nevada prison for armed robbery. Currently, Simpson is a regular guest on the “It Is What It Is” podcast with hosts Cam’Ron and Mase.
