This is one of my favorite looks I’ve worn and photographed recently. I wore it to a Tag Heuer panel discussion in Miami’s Design District. Featuring Naomi Osaka, it was one of my last Women’s History Month celebrations.
Wearing: Tiffany & Co. Azure Gradient Blue TF3095 via Sunglass Hut Exclusive (gifted) | Chanel 2022 Cruise Collection 22c Gold CC Choker | Veronica Beard Arrow Denim Jacket (gifted) | WSLY White Tee | Desigual x Esteban Cortazar Mini Skirt | Nine West Aves Sandal | Bimba y Lola Bag (gifted)
I wanted to be casual but elevated so I chose an embellished denim jacket from Veronica Beard. This jacket was a favorite in my closet that had been languishing, waiting for its moment to shine. I’ve worn it prior but it never hit this well. A great statement jacket was the oomph this t-shirt and mini skirt look needed. Although the printed mini skirt from Desigual x Esteban Cortazar is no slouch either. I wish it were still available to link, the print is so classic Miami. It was a gift from a friend doing a closet purge and I snatched it up to give it a second life with me. I was feeling under the weather that day and this outfit breathed life into me so to speak.
I’ll share my photo with Naomi Osaka on Instagram in a photo dump soon. I know it’s not that great because I started to feel my worst right at the time of our photo opp. I haven’t even brought myself to look at the shots, I don’t know if anyone else does this too haha. Naomi was shy yet vibrant and personable, a pleasure to meet and the moderator led a great panel. Kudos to Tag Heuer for putting that together and for my invitation.
Before heading home, I made a pit stop at Kith Treats for some much-needed ice cream therapy. Nothing soothes my soul quite like indulging in a sweet treat. It’s a terrible habit that I can’t seem to shake haha. I didn’t get any photos of my look before the talk started or after it ended. So I stuck my phone to the window of a nearby store and took a quick video of myself enjoying my ice cream.
Once I got home, maybe it was the sugar high or Naomi’s inspiring energy I decided to grab my tripod and venture out. It’s been a while since I did a self-photoshoot. My tripod has a built-in wireless remote but the app Lens Buddy helps if you don’t have one. I used a mix of both to capture these images. Sometimes the best moments are the ones captured yourself in the comfort of your own space.
