Nationwide — It’s been a journey of vision, community, and relentless passion. Known for its popular Buy Black Marketplace, local nonprofit Archwood Exchange/ACRES has announced the grand opening of The Archwood at Eastlake, a permanent home for the Marketplace and a new community space.
Founded by African American business owners Henry Dickerson, Havana Love, Ali Nervis and Stacy Best-Nervis, Archwood Exchange’s journey from a small pop-up market in 2017 to a permanent fixture in Phoenix’s business landscape is a testament to their relentless passion for community.
“We started this organization to uplift the businesses in our community and to see it come so far is an incredible feeling. We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for this amazing community and we look forward to reaching new heights together” said Henry Dickerson.
Located in the historic Arnold Pickle House in Downtown Phoenix, the Archwood at Eastlake will be the epicenter of culture, education, art, and entrepreneurship. It will also serve as the home to several local nonprofits and community organizations.
The Archwood at Eastlake will contain a business incubator, educational facilities, a multipurpose movement studio, and an event space to host any event you can dream of.
“We look forward to the collaboration and synergy that this space will foster and the impact that will be made in Phoenix as a result,” said Stacy Best-Nervis.
From a handful of vendors to a bustling marketplace, Archwood Exchange has been instrumental in the success of many local businesses, some of which have opened their first brick-and-mortar locations in town.
Archwood Exchange invites everyone to join in the celebration and support the thriving Black-owned business community. Mark your calendars and come out to enjoy a day of fun, culture, and community spirit at the Buy Black Marketplace which will take place on the first Saturday of every month.
