In 2022, the famous rapper Kendrick Lamar from the United States had a party in Ghana to listen to his album. He invited some music bosses and Ghanaian artists to perform. This made a big splash in the news and got fans excited for his new album.

British movie star Idris Elba visited Ghana in 2023, where he met with the President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House and talked about his idea of building a movie studio in Ghana. He stated that, Ghana has a great potential for making big movies but needs more resources. Idris is currently working on his news and plans to shoot part of his movie in Ghana.

That same year, two American hip-hop artists, Vic Mensa and Chance the Rapper, put together a festival in Accra Ghana called the Black Star Line Festival. It was a chance for Ghanaian and other diaspora artists to perform together and also gave the opportunity to more artist in Ghana who seek to band with other performers throughout the diaspora.

Earlier this year, another famous rapper, Ja Rule, announced he’s going to build a school in Ghana. He wants to celebrate his 25 years in hip-hop by inspiring others to do great things. This move comes second as comedian Michael Blackson who has already built a free school in Ghana’s Central Region, providing uniforms and quality education with extra teachers in each class. The rapper initiated the construction of the school project at Nuaso in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Other diaspora folks, like NBA star Dwayne Wade together with his famous wife (Hollywood Actress) Gabrielle Union and their daughter, visited Ghana for vacation. Their visit made a lot of people happy and created lots of nice videos and interviews of them sharing their beautiful experience in Ghana all over the internet.

All these people from the diaspora and many more are doing a lot to see the economic progress in Ghana.
