The last two months of the year are special in the United States, with Thanksgiving Day celebrated on the last Thursday in November and Black Friday the following day. These are special dates on which residents of several states will receive stimulus checks.
In the last days of 2024, tax refunds will arrive, which will represent a financial boost to spend the end-of-year holidays with greater happiness, those in November and in December with Christmas and New Year.
The United States government has implemented programs to support citizens in coping with the basic expenses of a person or family in the face of inflation, especially for low-income people, with specific aid plans and these are the states that have payments scheduled before Black Friday.
California
In California, the Child Tax Credit payment is scheduled for the next few days, which in cases where the lump sum is combined could be up to $3,600 for each qualifying child, plus it also has up to $1,083 for families with children under six years old who meet the requirements.
New Mexico
The rebate program for New Mexico residents is among the payments for those who filed their tax returns by May 31, 2024. Married couples filing jointly are eligible for up to $1,000 and those filing individually, whether married or single, will receive up to $500.
Colorado
In Colorado, the TABOR program was implemented, redistributing excess state funds among taxpayers, with singles receiving a refund of $847 and joint filers receiving $1,694.
Arizona
In Arizona, a refund is expected under the Family Tax Program that will benefit approximately 743,000 residents with $250 for each dependent under 17 and $100 for dependents over 17. The refunds are intended to support low-income families and are based on 2021 tax returns.
Maryland
Maryland implemented the extension of the tax credit program until 2024 for families with children under 6 years of age or with disabilities, and it is estimated that up to 40,000 households will benefit with $500 for each child or person with special needs.
