The One Direction singer’s Oct. 16 death has stirred up controversy as new details emerge. News just broke regarding Liam Payne’s death and it may finally allow him to rest. According to reports, the One Direction singer’s body is likely to be to released to his family weeks after his Oct. 16 death due to a fall from a hotel balcony.
Per the British Embassy Officials in Buenos Aires, Liam’s father Geoff Payne has been cooperating with the Argentinian capital since Oct. 18 to bring the body of his son back to their England homeland for burial. ABC.com reports, the release of Payne’s body is contingent on the court’s findings in the ongoing criminal investigation of his death.
ABC News reports that the singer was speculated to have involved drug exchanges with multiple people a short time before Payne’s death. Sources close to the situation said police are looking into if an employee at the hotel Payne was staying supplied him with drugs.
As previously reported by The Root, partial autopsy and toxicology results pointed to various substances in Liam’s system when he fell to his death from his hotel room’s balcony, including pink cocaine– a drug usually consisting of methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA and others. Cocaine, benzodiazepine and crack were also found.
This detail is notable since “pink cocaine” has come up throughout Sean Diddy Combs’ legal woes, in which the disgraced hip hop mogul was accused of using the substance to drug non-consenting parties. Most notable, the drug mentioned in an earlier lawsuit brought against Combs by music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones earlier this year. All speculative of course, but social media onlookers are still connecting the dots:
One TikTok sleuth broke down the lyrics of the One Direction bandmates pointing to possible drug references discreetly hidden in songs, while others blatantly point to Diddy as the reason for the singer’s death.
Nonetheless, we’ll be on the lookout for more developments as they unfold.
