BLACK RIVER, New York (WWNY) – Folks in the Black River community kicked off the first weekend in May with village-wide yard sales.
Our cameras caught some people shopping. Some told us yard sales are like treasure hunts, you don’t know what you’ll find.
Those selling say nearly all of their stuff was gone by Saturday morning.
We also made a stop at the Black River American Legion. The pavilion was filled with all sorts of things.
Those with the legion say yard sales are perfect for shopping and bringing the community together.
“Some things that their kids have been wanting or something that they had when they were little, so they’ve been finding out, but we’ve all gathered together, had lunches, pizza, get caught up, get together and know people in the community so that’s a good thing too,” said Angel Ashley, American Legion Post #673 Black River Union President.
Some yard sales in the village will also be running on Sunday.
