March is Women’s History Month, and women in the music industry are showing their strength and influence more than ever.
The month kicks off with the return of several female artists, such as Kim Gordon with her album The Collective and Ariana Grande with Eternal Sunshine. Later on, country music star Kacey Musgraves will release Deeper Well, and Shakira will introduce her empowering track Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. Fans can also anticipate the long-awaited albums from GRAMMY-winning singer Tyla and singer/bassist Blu DeTiger, titled Tyla and All I Ever Want Is Everything respectively. To close out March on a high note, Beyoncé will drop her highly-anticipated album Act II on the 29th.
Additionally, male artists will also release new music in March, including projects from Justin Timberlake, Bleachers, the final record from pop-punk band Sum 41, and the potentially anticipated collaboration between Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign called Vultures 2.

Schoolboy Q – Blue Lips
Release date: March 1
On February 1, Schoolboy Q surprised fans by updating his website with a mysterious countdown and a 37-second video. In this video, the rapper revealed the tracklist and title of his highly-anticipated sixth studio album, Blue Lips, along with its release date set for March 1.
Blue Lips marks Q’s first complete album since 2019’s Crash Talk. The album, which Q had been teasing since 2020, boasts 18 tracks and features collaborations with artists like Rico Nasty and Freddie Gibbs. Q has also treated fans to a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album through a new vlog series on social media called “wHy not?,” where he previews snippets of the songs.
So far, the rapper has released tracks such as “Blueslides,” “Back n Love” featuring Devin Malik, “Cooties,” and “Love Birds” featuring Devin Malik and Lance Skiiwalker as well as the lead single “Yeern 101.”
Bleachers – Bleachers
Release date: March 8
Fronted by 10-time GRAMMY winner and 2024 Producer Of The Year Jack Antonoff, the rock band Bleachers is gearing up to launch its self-titled fourth studio album on March 8.
In a press release, Bleachers is described as Antonoff’s unique take on the multisensory contradictions of modern life from a distinctly New Jersey perspective. The upcoming album promises to blend emotions of sadness and joy, creating music suitable for both long drives on the highway, tearful moments, and lively dance-floor celebrations at weddings.
The band has already shared four singles from the album, such as the lead track “Modern Girl,” “Alma Mater” featuring Lana del Rey, “Tiny Moves,” and “Me Before You.” Bleachers aim to navigate through the chaos of modern times while emphasizing what truly matters through their serendipitous melodies and soulful lyrics.
Bleachers is set to embark on a tour in the U.K. in March followed by dates in the U.S. in May and June.
Kim Gordon – The Collective
Release date: March 8
Renowned musician Kim Gordon, previously part of Sonic Youth, is preparing to launch her second LP titled The Collective on March 8. This album serves as a follow-up to her debut No Home Record released in 2019, further solidifying her collaboration with producer Justin Raisen and additional input from Anthony Paul Lopez.
In a recent press statement, Gordon expressed her desire to capture the chaos and uncertainty prevailing in society today through this new record. She highlighted the prevalent mood of paranoia where truth is elusive, facts are disregarded, and everyone seems to adopt their version of reality, leading to a pervasive sense of unease.
Earlier in January, Gordon unveiled the haunting first single from the album, titled “Bye Bye,” accompanied by a music video featuring her daughter, Coco Gordon Moore. The release of the second single, “I’m A Man,” followed in February. Gordon is scheduled to perform in six concerts in support of The Collective, starting on March 21 in Burlington, Vermont.
Ariana Grande – Eternal Sunshine

After nearly four years since her last album, Positions in 2020, Ariana Grande is finally back with her seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine. Grande took time off to film Wicked, a movie adaptation of the popular Broadway musical and had committed to hold off on new music until completing the project.
Fans can rejoice as Grande announced the arrival of Eternal Sunshine, her latest album, marking her return to the music scene. The album’s lead single, “Yes, And?,” was released in January, followed by Grande sharing insights into the album’s concept in an Instagram video.
According to Grande, Eternal Sunshine is somewhat of a conceptual piece, presenting different facets of a singular storyline or experience. The album will explore vulnerability, along with playful tracks that showcase various aspects of her persona, pushing boundaries while maintaining elements of fun and creativity.
Grande shared on her Instagram Story, “I think this one may be your favorite,” expressing her enthusiasm for Eternal Sunshine. The album, featuring 13 tracks, is slated to delve into house and R&B genres and will include only one collaboration, staying true to Grande’s artistic vision.
# Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign – Vultures 2

After facing several delays, Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign finally released their first joint album, Vultures 1, on Feb. 10, 2024. The album, intended to be the initial part of a trilogy, was independently launched through West’s YZY label and soared to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. All 16 tracks from the album also made it onto Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
Referred to as ¥$, the pair is set to drop Vultures 2 on March 8, followed by Vultures 3 on April 5. While further details about the upcoming releases remain unknown, Timbaland recently hinted on X (previously Twitter) that Vultures 2 is “OTW.” Additionally, West and $ign hosted listening parties for the album in the U.S. and Europe last month, with more schedules yet to be announced.
# The Jesus and Mary Chain – Glasgow Eyes

In celebration of their 40th anniversary, alt-rock band The Jesus and Mary Chain will unveil their eighth studio album, Glasgow Eyes, on March 8. The album, as showcased in the lead single “Jamcod,” reflects the band’s signature distorted synths and electrifying guitars that have defined their style over the years. Vocalist Jim Reid expressed that Glasgow Eyes stays true to the essence of a classic Jesus and Mary Chain record, allowing the creativity to flow organically in the studio without adhering to strict rules.
The release of Glasgow Eyes marks a six-year interval since the band’s last album, 2017’s Damage and Joy. To commemorate this milestone, the band will also publish an autobiography and embark on a European tour spanning March and April.
# Justin Timberlake – Everything I Thought It Was

Justin Timberlake makes a comeback with his first studio album since 2018’s Man of the Woods. Everything I Thought It Was is highlighted by singles “Selfish” and “Drown.” Timberlake shared in an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 that he meticulously crafted the album, sifting through 100 songs to finalize the 18-track selection. He described this album as his finest work, containing moments of raw honesty intertwined with elements of fun. To mark his return, Timberlake announced the Forget Tomorrow World Tour, commencing on April 29 in Vancouver and spanning North America and Europe until its conclusion on Dec. 16 in Indianapolis.

Fresh off her victory of Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 2024 GRAMMYs for the Zach Bryan collaboration “I Remember Everything,” Kacey Musgraves disclosed the arrival of her fifth studio album, Deeper Well. Produced mainly at the iconic Electric Lady studios in New York City, Deeper Well comprises 14 tracks.
