Renowned artist Usher Raymond was recognized with two prestigious awards in Atlanta this week.
Atlanta’s Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame unveiled his emblem, and Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens bestowed upon him the Phoenix Award, the city’s highest honor.
Raymond was commemorated for his achievements and the launch of his latest album, “Coming Home.”
During a press conference, Raymond exclaimed: “We are significant, this is the era of Atlanta!”

These accolades followed Usher’s riveting 13-minute performance at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas last Sunday.

Atlanta News First reporter Brittany Ford conducted an exclusive interview with Usher.
“I am genuinely delighted and thrilled to be here in Atlanta to celebrate,” remarked Raymond.
Reflecting on his career, Raymond expressed, “As I stand here to mark this moment on the Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame, I am celebrating not just a single occurrence at the Super Bowl, but a remarkable 30-year journey.”
Clark Atlanta University and local representatives bestowed several honors upon Usher during a homecoming pep rally event and designated February 14, 2024, as Usher Raymond Appreciation Day.

Over his three-decade-long career, Usher has sold over 243 million albums and 38 million digital tracks in the United States, earning him eight Grammy Awards and numerous other accolades.
Born in Dallas, Texas, Usher moved to Atlanta at the age of 12 after spending his early years in Tennessee. His 2024 North American tour, “Past, Present, Future,” commences on August 17 at the State Farm Arena.

Additionally, a celebratory rally was held at Clark Atlanta University on Wednesday.
Usher was bestowed with a $25,000 donation from Amazon for his non-profit organization, the Usher New Look Foundation.
